New Products
Version Mègane Sedan II of Renault to be launched in Brazil at the end of
2005. Also, a version of a Hyundai small truck is foreseen for the same
date. KUKA Automação do Brasil has been included among the
suppliers to take part in the purchasing processes.
DaimlerChrysler:
Robot cell for gear laser engraving (of the part number with 8 characters,
geartooth identification, "DaimlerChrysler do Brasil" and "Made in
Brazil"; cycle time 35 seconds. Through a video system, it allows the
identification of 19 groups of transmission gear for the vehicle Gran
Cherokee. These gears will also be exported to the USA.
John Deere
Robot Welding cell for tractor chassi (cycle time 6 minutes) synergic MAG
welding machine (Fronius) with turntable, using KUKA KR30 robot. John
Deere, with two plants in Brazil, is one of the leaders in agricultural
machines, exporting to the USA, Europe and Asia. The construction of a
new tractor plant has been approved, although its location has not been
disclosed yet. KUKA Automation competed with ABB, Motoman, Fanuc and
Kawazaki.
Suspensys
Robot welding cell for truck axle (cycle time 5 minutes), synergic MAG
welding machine (Merkle) with turntable using KUKA KR16 robot. Suspensys,
located in the south of Brazil, is a 50%-50% joint-venture of the
Brazilian Group Randon with Arvin Meritor. The product to be exported to
China and Malasia will be welded in a KUKA cell in which will also be
welded axles for DaimlerChrysler do Brasil and the domestic market
(Randon axles). Two other cells for 2005 and two for 2006 have been
budgeted. KUKA Automação competed with ABB and Fanuc.
